Mayor’s Corner By Greg “Porp” Rogers
Let me start by apologizing for the confusion I may have started with the traffic and parking plan in last week’s article. After review between Chief Kellogg and myself we decided not to change anything for the Oatkafest, it does looks like the right call. LPD reported no issues or arrest for the weekend and despite the heat I believe everyone had a good time.
Thank you to all who ran this festival and especially Scott Ripley for his job on a truly spectacular parade.
Last Friday the LeRoy Town and Garden Club unveiled the new benches and the extra plantings around them that they donated on the corner lot. It looks amazing and THANK YOU from all of us in the community, your efforts really set LeRoy apart from other communities.
Besides cleaning up and get ready for the festival our DPW with help from other agencies were able to pave South St. North St. and Church St. this is no small feat for a total crew of 6.
I’d like to pass on congratulations to the Little League 11-12 year old All-Stars for winning their district, before falling to Penfield.
With the passing of Oatkafest it seems like summer is half over so please try to enjoy what is left.
